We were in Copacabana, Bolivia during their Virgen de la Candelaria festival. As I was taking pictures of the parade this little girl was so curious about my camera that she stepped right in front of it and I just continued snapping away.

Bands are used to celebrate throughout all of Latin America. Nearly every type of celebration whether it be religious, patriotic or otherwise incorporates marching bands with colorful costumes and loud synchronized music. The bands include people of all ages and gender. Typically, even during celebrations, the bands compete for trophies and respect.

Guatemala commemorates their independence from Spain on September 15th. This photo was taken during their celebrations in Antigua, Guatemala. Many local bands parade the city streets in an all day long competition. If you are visiting Antigua during the weeks leading up to Independence Day, expect to be woken up every morning by bands practicing in the schools around the city.
