Photo of the Day: Giant Metal Flower

| Taken by Aracely | No Comments » | Photo of the Day

This Photo of the Day was captured by our friend Kevin who visited us in Argentina. The Floralis Generica is giant metal opening and closing flower sculpture found in the center of the United Nations Plaza in Buenos Aires. It stands inside a 40-meter reflecting pool. The shiny flower has 6 petals (each of them measures 13 meters long and 7 meters wide) and 4 pistons. The petals are closed in the evenings from sunset to sunrise, this is a 20-minute process mimicking the actual movement of a flower.
