Photo of the Day: Child of Bolivia

We were in Copacabana, Bolivia during their Virgen de la Candelaria festival.  As I was taking pictures of the parade this little girl was so curious about my camera that she stepped right in front of it and I just continued snapping away.

This is a trully artistic picture that could stand in any photo gallery. The expression in the little girl’s face is extraordinary! She’s curious but in a very serious, deep way. You can see she had eaten something, she had a running nose and a bit of sadness in her eyes. And she’s beautiful.

Thanks Anca. It was a beautiful opportunity. She was so curious about the camera, she just stepped right up in front of it and stared curiously.

Just wanted to say that this is a really excellent picture. My wife and I have done a little traveling in Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Thailand. We’re hoping to head to South American sometime in the near future.

  3. As much as I love Europe for its beautiful cities, mountains, islands, art and history, I’m at a point where I feel more attracted to Latin America and not just for travel. I just have that feeling that I would very much enjoy living there for some time.
